Are Master's Touch Paints Comparable To Liquitex

I become a lot of requests about converting or substituting brands of paints to other brands. Most of the tutorials on this blog apply the Liquitex BASICS brand of paints and some other brands of student form acrylic paints.

A mutual question I get is what if I want to use craft paint but the tutorial calls for the tube paint? Tin I convert colors? The brusque reply is yeah you tin can! If you are okay with information technology not being a 100% match.

Too, is information technology okay to mix acrylic paint brands in a painting? Yep it is absolutely okay! I am all about using whatsoever materials you have on hand. If that means you utilize a tube of arts and crafts pigment for one color, a tube of Liquitex BASICS for another – that is fine!

It is important to know that paint brands won't catechumen 100% exact match because of the manner the paints are mixed in those tubes for that brand. Still, you tin get a close impression of that color (or a commutation).

What many people do is take the color chart (like the one pictured beneath) that I provide on my tutorials and try to find a close colour to information technology. That is fine and works oft! For example: "Dioxazine Purple" can exist any shade of that majestic you may take on manus whether that be a arts and crafts pigment of purple or a tube pigment labeled with a similar merely different name.

You lot can use these color charts I provide on my tutorials to notice a close match for your brand'due south color.

However, if you lot demand a more detailed fashion to catechumen colors, this post volition exist helpful for that.

Other Paint Brands Not Listed

It would exist very challenging to provide a chart to every acrylic paint (and arts and crafts pigment) brand that exists out there! Many times the paint that comes in the tubes are labeled with the same color proper name and so that makes it piece of cake.

Other times, specially with the craft paints, nosotros become fun names like "chimera gum pink" and "mistletoe green". That makes it a little hard to friction match which "bubble gum pink" goes with "medium magenta".

I would recommend googling the make proper noun and the words "conversion nautical chart" or "color chart" to meet if at that place is anything. Otherwise you volition merely accept to utilize your best judgment to friction match the color swatches. Retrieve fine art & painting is supposed to exist fun and relaxing so try not to stress too much almost matching the colors up perfectly!

Cheers for reading and hope you found these exchange charts helpful!
